The place is situated in the town’s highest area, so you can enjoy the beautiful views of Gredos hills from its windows and its large veranda.
It was built with granite stone, a noble and traditional material from the area. Wood predominates in its rustic-style decoration. The place has all the necessary facilities to make it a comfortable house.
Will full-lodging and room for 8-10 guests, it has a large sitting room with a fireplace, four double rooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and two wine cellars. It also has an area with trees, barbecue and a swing for children.
In a beautiful, pleasant environment, at the crossing point of Cañada Real Soriana and the Tormes river (950 metres above sea level), there’s a village called Puente del Congosto (Congosto bridge), which is close to the Gredos and the Béjar foothills.
The colossal silhouette of a medieval castle dominates the scenery from any point of the town. Its origins date back from the XIII century and it is very well preserved.
At the other side of the Tormes river by the castle, there’s an old bridge which gave place to part of the town’s name. It also dates back to the medieval age, around the XV century, and it consists in thirteen arches built on granite soil. Running water and the passage of time have carved capricious shapes on the rocks, making the riversides and its surroundings extremely beautiful. The western slope of Cañada Real Soriana used to pass by under this bridge.
In the highest part of the town, the strong and solid La Asunción church dominates the landscape with its gorgeous portico in the main façade.
The Tormes river, which runs through the town, offers delightful recreational areas, not only for bathing but also for trout fishing. For adventure enthusiasts, the river provides the possibility to practise any kind of sports in its waters, such as rafting, canoeing, etc.
Those who love the contact with nature can enjoy walking or bicycling along the riversides, as well as by the gully, up to the joining with the Via de la Plata.
