WELCOME TO CASAS DEL ATRAPASUEÑOS! The Casas del Atrapasueños are typical Andalusian rural houses that have been designed and built respecting local traditions.Their bright white-washed walls make a strong contrast with the bright blues of the Andalusian skies. The roofs of the porches and terraces have been hand-made by local artesans using wood poles, cane, straw and rope. The windows have been equipped with woven grass blinds also created by local artesans. Acces to the houses is through a beautiful andalucian patio embellished by a young lemon tree. The houses are situated half way between cape Trafalgar and the Breña Natural Park, at about 500m from each making visits to both very easy indeed. There are 2 tipes of lodging: 4 apartments for 4 people each and 4 studios for 2 people each. Each apartment or study has a different orientation to ensure privacy for all guests, however they are ideal also for groups us all of the lodgings are connected by the patio. The houses have 2 bedrooms: one in blue, with 150x200cm bed, equipped with a quilt and cover for the winter months, as well as quite a large built-in wardrope. The other bedroom is orange and has 2 90x200cm single beds, which is also equipped with a large wardrope. In both bedrooms there is the possibility of switching on electric heaters, allowing you to control temperatures in the winter. All mattresses are orthopedic for any back problems and they are all of very good ecological and hypoallergenic quality make. - The bathroom is equipped with a bath and the shower has a really good pressure jet. - The kitchen is fully equipped, from frying pans, coffe makers,cutlery, glasses, too a toaster and much more. There is also a large fridge with a big freezer compartment and a washing machine. The kitchen is separated from the living room by a wooden american bar.style table at which you can sit to eat on the wooden stools. In the living room we have a large two-man sofa and two wicker arm chairs as well as a low coffe table. In the corner there is a wood-burning stove strong enough to warm up the whole house. At the door there is coat stand and a shoe rack for when you come back home. - The porch leads into the garden and is equipped with chairs and table. - Acces to the studios is up a staircase from the patio. They are furnished with a 150x200cm double bed with the same orthopedic and ecological bed as in the houses. There is also a large built-in wardrobe and a large space to store away your luggage. The kitchen is also fully equipped: toaster, coffe-maker, pots and pans, etc. It has a large fridge with a spacious freezer compartment and a washing machine. There is also a small wooden breakfast bar to sit at on the wood and straw stools. - The bathroom has a bath and a shower with a powerful jet. - The studios have a large terrace each. Some of these have views to the see and on clear days even as far as the moroccan coast. Others look on to the Breña pine forest. The terraces have large roofs, of the same size and wood and straw style as the ones on the ground floor. The terraces are also equipped with tables and chairs.
Hace ya unos años cuando, guiándonos por nuestra intuición (ya que no lo conocíamos de nada), vinimos a descansar unos días a Los Caños de Meca. Desde el primer momento, ambos tuvimos la sensación de encontrarnos en el lugar donde encajábamos y, cuando dábamos un paseo por la playa del Faro o por el Parque Natural de La Breña, sonábamos con vivir aquí algún día para siempre. Parecía un sueño muy lejano y nos consolábamos pensando que, después de mucho tiempo, a lo mejor lo conseguíamos. Pero, cuando terminaron nuestras vacaciones, nos entró mucha pena al dejar todo esto y fue entonces cuando nos planteamos: ¿y por qué no nos venimos a vivir aquí ya? Desde ese momento, pusimos todo nuestro empeño e ilusión en conseguir lo que queríamos y, al año siguiente, ya estábamos aquí construyendo estas casitas como medio para conseguir dos cosas: nuestro sueño de vivir felices en el lugar que habíamos elegido y poder ofrecéroslas para que aquellos que queráis venir encontréis el entorno adecuado donde conectaros con vuestros sueños. En cuanto al nombre de "CASAS DEL ATRAPASUEÑOS", la idea surgió por lo que significa ese símbolo. Para quien no lo sepa, el “atrapasueños” es un objeto proveniente de la cultura nativo-americana que, básicamente, consiste en un círculo adornado con plumas y relleno de una red cuyo fin s atrapar los malos sueños y dejar que sólo atraviesen la misma los buenos. Las madres lo colgaban encima de donde dormían sus bebés para ahuyentar sus pesadillas y que tuvieran sueños felices. Y, además de este fin, también se cree que podían ser utilizados como una puerta espiritual hacia el mundo de los sueños y los deseos personales. Así pues, esperamos que encontréis aquí el lugar idóneo para recordar vuestros sueños más felices y empezar a plantearos que se pueden hacer realidad. Angel y Patty
